Smooth bore PTFE tube JCC-00000, plain extruded PTFE wall
Smooth bore PTFE tube JCC-00000, plain extruded PTFE wall. Jingcheng product photo; fittings are made to order.

JCC-00000 is our plain smooth bore PTFE tube: extruded PTFE, dried, sintered and shaped, with no braid and no jacket. It handles strong acids and alkalis, oxidizers, reducing agents and organic solvents, and it is the build we send when a line needs the cleanest possible flow path and has no pressure load worth reinforcing against.

  • Temperature−70 to +260 °C / −94 to +500 °F
  • Bore4.5–51 mm (5/32"–2")
  • Working pressure1.73 → 0.40 MPa
  • Wall1.0–2.0 mm

Overview

A smooth bore hose is exactly what the name says: the inside wall is a continuous cylinder. PTFE resin is extruded into a tube, dried, sintered at high temperature and then shaped to the final dimensions. There is no corrugation and no braid on this series, so nothing in the bore can trap product and nothing on the outside will hold pressure for you.

That single fact drives most of the specification work. The smooth bore gives the lowest pressure drop of any PTFE build we make, drains completely when the line is emptied, and is quick to flush or swab between batches. In exchange, the tube carries only its own wall thickness against pressure, which is why the working pressure falls as the bore grows: 1.73 MPa at 1/4", 0.40 MPa at 2".

If the line has a pump discharge head, hammer, a vacuum pull or a tight routing bend, this is the wrong base product and a braided or convoluted build is the answer. Both are noted under options and related builds.

Materials and construction

  • Raw material: PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) resin, pigmented or natural. The blue and natural finishes in the photo are the same base polymer.
  • Process: extrusion into tube, drying, high-temperature sintering, then shaping and dimensioning. The sintered bore is what gives PTFE its low friction and its resistance to most chemicals.
  • Bore profile: smooth and cylindrical end to end, with no seams or corrugations to hold liquid.
  • Reinforcement: none. JCC-00000 is the bare tube. Pressure containment comes from the wall alone.
  • End connections: not part of the catalog sizes. Tell us the threads, flanges or compression fittings on the equipment and fittings are specified for the assembly.

Temperature and pressure notes

The catalog temperature range is −70 to +260 °C (−94 to +500 °F). The pressure figures in the table are the catalog's working and burst ratings for each size, and both fall as the bore increases. That is geometry, not a manufacturing limit: a larger diameter puts more wall area under the same internal pressure.

Rated pressure at room temperature is not the number to design to at 200 °C. Reducing the allowable working pressure as temperature rises is standard practice for polymer hose, and PTFE is no exception. We do not publish a single derating curve here because it depends on media, cycle count and service life expectation, so send the actual temperature and pressure and the rating for your assembly is confirmed in writing with the quotation.

Two things we would check before any high-temperature order: whether the medium is a gas (gases are more unforgiving than liquids in a non-reinforced tube) and whether the line is ever pulled under vacuum. This series has no published vacuum rating; if the process requires one, ask for a spiral-spring or braided build instead.

Applications

This tube is specified where PTFE's chemical resistance is the reason for buying it:

  • Strong acids and alkalis
  • Strong oxidizing agents
  • Reducing agents
  • Organic solvents
  • High-purity chemical transfer, where a smooth non-shedding bore matters

It is also common as the inner tube of a larger assembly, which is why the series is listed as a tube rather than a finished hose. If the line is a sampling line, a dosing line or a low-pressure chemical transfer run, start here and confirm the fittings with us.

Options and related builds

How to order

Send these seven points and the quotation can be built without another round of email:

  1. Bore you need, in mm or inches, and the nominal size if you already know it.
  2. Length per piece and the number of pieces.
  3. End fittings at each end: thread standard and size, flange, or compression fitting, with a photo or part number if you have one.
  4. Medium and its concentration. This decides compatibility, and it decides whether the bare tube is enough.
  5. Operating temperature, including cleaning or steam-in-place peaks.
  6. Working and peak pressure, and whether the line ever runs under vacuum.
  7. Quantity for the first order and the expected annual use, so the price reflects the real volume.

If a drawing already exists, send it. We work to the customer's drawing when one is supplied.

Frequently asked questions

What is a smooth bore hose?

A hose whose inner wall is a continuous smooth cylinder, with no corrugation and no liner steps. In this series the bore is formed by the extruded and sintered PTFE tube itself. The practical result is the lowest pressure drop and the easiest cleaning of any PTFE construction, because there is nowhere in the bore for product to sit.

What is the difference between smooth bore and convoluted PTFE hose?

Smooth bore is a straight cylindrical wall. Convoluted PTFE has a corrugated wall formed into rings, which bends much more tightly and, with a braid or spring, resists vacuum. The trade-off is that the corrugations add a little pressure drop and hold a small amount of product when the line drains. Smooth bore is the choice for clean flow; convoluted is the choice for tight routing and vacuum.

What does "PTFE lined hose" mean, and is this one?

A PTFE lined hose is usually a rubber or metal hose with a PTFE liner pushed inside it, so the medium only touches PTFE. JCC-00000 is not a lined hose: the tube is solid PTFE through the wall thickness. That matters because there is no liner-to-hose bond that can fail, but it also means the tube has no separate pressure-carrying layer.

Can this tube carry pressure on its own?

Yes, within the catalog ratings: 1.73 MPa at 1/4" down to 0.40 MPa at 2". Above that, or where there is water hammer, pump pulsation or a gas, use a braided build instead. The burst figures in the table are roughly three to four times working pressure, which is a safety margin, not an operating target.

Can I get a custom bore, wall or length?

Yes. Sizes outside the table are made to your drawing on request, and lengths are cut per order. Send the dimensions and the end connection details, and we will confirm what is practical before quoting.

Is the tube supplied with fittings?

The catalog lists the tube by size only. Fittings are specified per order, so send the thread or flange on the equipment and the assembly drawing is issued for approval before production.
